Institutions of Islamic Law is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in scholarly publishing. The journal adheres to the Core Practices and ethical principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and promotes responsible research throughout the editorial and publication process.
Editors, reviewers, and authors are expected to uphold the principles of academic honesty and research integrity. The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, citation manipulation, or any other form of publication misconduct. All submitted manuscripts are screened for originality before entering the peer-review process.
The journal operates a rigorous double-blind peer review system to ensure that editorial decisions are made fairly, objectively, confidentially, and without discrimination. Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, originality, methodological rigour, and relevance to the journal's aims and scope.
To safeguard editorial independence, any manuscript submitted by the Editor-in-Chief, Managing Editor, Editorial Board members, or reviewers is handled by another qualified editor who has no conflict of interest with the submission. Individuals involved as authors have no role in the editorial handling, reviewer selection, peer-review process, or publication decision for their own manuscripts.
Any allegation of research or publication misconduct will be investigated in accordance with the COPE Guidelines. Where appropriate, the journal may issue corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, or other editorial actions to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.
Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to comply with these ethical principles throughout the submission, review, publication, and post-publication stages.
